1. Data controller
The data controller for personal data is BIRUSK APP (SIREN 790 558 332), based in France. Contact: contact@zanyari.app
2. Data collected
The Zanyari app collects the following data:
- Account (optional): email address, pseudonym, avatar (optional), authentication provider (Apple, Google, email/password). Creating an account is required to like, favorite, submit anecdotes, or subscribe to the Supporter subscription.
- Preferences: display language, theme choice (light/dark), opt-in for daily notifications.
- Activity in the app: anecdotes read, liked, favorited, quiz answers, shared content. These data personalize the experience ("already read" badge, quiz statistics) and do not feed any advertising profiling.
- Submissions and reports: texts, images and links you submit through the integrated forms. Moderation is handled by the editorial team.
- In-app purchases: an Apple transaction identifier (Original Transaction ID), the subscription tier and the expiration date. No banking information transits through our servers (billing is handled by Apple).
3. Data NOT collected
- No advertising tracking
- No third-party measurement pixel (Facebook, etc.)
- No resale of data to third parties
- No marketing profiling
- No banking data (handled exclusively by Apple)
4. Legal bases for processing
- Performance of the contract: data necessary for the operation of the account and subscriptions.
- Consent: push notifications (opt-in, revocable at any time).
- Legitimate interest: reading history for the "already read" badge and personal quiz statistics.
5. Hosting and subprocessors
Data is hosted by the following providers:
- Google Firebase (Firestore Enterprise) - region europe-west1 (Belgium). Storage of user accounts and content.
- Cloudinary - image storage.
- Apple - authentication (Sign in with Apple) and management of in-app purchases.
6. Retention period
Account data is kept as long as the account is active. When the account is deleted (from Profile screen → "Delete my account"), a GDPR cascade is executed:
- Anonymization of public contributions (submissions, reports, co-authored anecdotes).
- Deletion of private subcollections (favorites, likes, reading history, quiz answers, IAP transactions).
- Deletion of the user document and the Firebase Authentication account.
Deletion is immediate on the Firestore side. Firebase automatic backups are purged within 30 days.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access, rectification and portability
- Right to erasure (account deletion from the app, or by email to contact@zanyari.app)
- Right to object to processing
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time
- Right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr)
8. Cookies and local storage
The iOS app does not use cookies. A few preferences (language, theme, onboarding status) are stored locally on your device via UserDefaults and send no data to our servers.
9. Minors
The App is intended for a general audience. In accordance with French regulations, minors under 15 must obtain authorization from a parent or legal guardian to create an account.
10. Changes
This policy may be updated. Any significant change will be notified in the app.
